Autumn Beauty
Posted by Aurora Davidson on
October is a favorite time of year for me when autumn turns the mountains of Vermont into an amazing blaze of color. This month we are blessed with two full moons. Perhaps if the atmosphere is filled with dust or smoke particles we'll get a chance to see the phenomenon known as the Blue Moon. Not once but twice!
Milkweed meadows

A storm of milkweed fluff flies in fields filled with drying pods as I walk in meadows of sheer delight. Fairy dancer seeds floating on the wind that bring joy and laughter to my childlike heart. Natures gifts that will lay in wait until springtime, the circle ever turning, New Moon blessings to all as we approach Autumn Equinox's equal day and night next week.
Harvest Full Moon

September's Harvest Moon brings a chill to Vermont evenings and the potential for frost threatens tender vines and vegetables. Flowers of autumn arrive, asters and goldenrod brighten the fields along with my favorite angel winged gladiolas that grace my circle garden.
light filtering through trees

A friend shared with me that Komorebi is the Japanese word for light filtering through trees. This photo captures the essence of that light I love at the end of the day before sunset. The lush green landscape of August, summer already at its midpoint, may this beautiful light fill your heart with wonder. Enjoy and be well.
Garden Light

Sitting on my porch the darkness deepens on this New Moon evening yet the solar light beside my walkway casts rays upon plant tendrils. White flowers scattered throughout the garden dance within a gentle wind and looking skyward pinpricks of stars begin to sparkle, beckoning me out into fields I know well. I watch each night, the sky ever-changing, the moon my monthly guide from dark to light. This time portends each one of us to enlighten the world with our own unique radiance and love.
